I never really got into The Office for a long time. I first started watching around season 6 and it is definitely an addicting TV show. I feel the writers have put out a meaningful rendition of the UK original which casts a much larger shadow in comparison. I feel much of the writing is brilliant and will truly stand the test of time.

Similarly many of the actors and writers on this show are first finding their fame among the series. With 2013 being the last season of The Office, I want to post a couple of NPR interviews with none other than John Krasinski. He is definitely a talented writer and actor who has been with the series from the beginning.

Ironically both John and B.J. Novak(plays Ryan the temp) come from the same high school in Newton, Massachusetts. It is always interesting to find more talented people from Massachusetts who have contributed their ideas into TV writing.

Anyways enjoy the interviews as I think any writer or fan of the show will understand. I think when it comes to John’s more recent productions and writing efforts it is clear to see how The Office has rubbed off on everybody. It is certainly an influence with my own creative endeavors and remains in my top 5 best series.

Recently we launched a new version of Destiny Islands live on the web. We are working with a brand new designer out of Venezuela who uses DeviantArt productively. This has brought out some great changes in the banner, navigation buttons, and other sidebar widgets.

When we originally put up Destiny Islands back in April 2011 it was very difficult work. Myself and Nathan were working plenty of weekends to churn out game content for all the pages. Also gathering screenshots, official artwork, cutscenes, and other media. It’s been a lot of work.

But I feel like the work has finally paid off, and Destiny Islands is skyrocketing into popularity. We shared some recent traffic stats for July 2012 which demonstrate the power of SEO rankings. Not just for DI, but truly for any projects we’re launching.

In addition the Bodhum Network has grown tremendously in staff members. We are all working together brainstorming new ideas for fansites, blogs, forums, and similar products. I will definitely keep things updated as we launch off new projects.

But focusing on classic video game titles will surely bring about domain names related to Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Harvest Moon, and possibly even Katamari. Maybe.

I suppose the best idea is to wait a few months. I am working through ideas in my head so I can sit down and focus solely on one entity. Branding is difficult to come by these days no matter how hard you work at it.

Thankfully WordPress supplies a very sturdy framework to work through. And unlike some of my past ideas running on Pligg CMS the WP team is constantly updating with new releases. I’m actually excited for news on their upcoming Twenty Twelve theme set.

I guess I’d just like to offer a few notes going forward. Now that we’re into March I hope I can capitalize on a few great website launches come this early Spring.

I’m hoping to keep this same theme running for quite a while. Ideally this website will serve as not just a portfolio of my past works, but also a journal and online notebook. I’d like to publish tutorials and articles offering freebies for web developers. If I have the time I’ll also try to update on new projects I’ve been doing.

The whole system built on WordPress is very fluid. I’m using some custom post fields for both my Portfolio entires and blog posts.

This articles section is launching under a trial run for now. I doubt I’ll turn off the publishing feature at any point in the future. I hope I’ll have enough time to keep updating.

I’ll definitely be trying to test out the theme and make sure everything is running smooth over the next few weeks. Maybe I can publish some older ideas or code I’ve put together.
